The company

Proudcloud is a Manila software studio, founded in 2009, that builds web and mobile products for startups in North America, Europe, and Australia.

The work

I joined in August 2010, when Proudcloud was a Ruby on Rails shop. I was its lead product designer until June 2012, and its only one: every client project came through my desk. I worked directly with the clients’ founders and with Proudcloud’s engineers, and led the product design on each engagement.

I also wrote front-end code, which made the hand-off to engineering shorter.

What carried over

At a studio, the fastest design review is a working page in front of the founder. I still show work that way.

Tell me what you’re building.

Write early, while the names and screens can still change. A few lines are enough: what it does, who it’s for, how far along you are. I reply within two working days, Manila time.
